time-in_-between-front_-cover_ This wonderful fourth time-in_-between-signature novel by Canadian author David Bergen won the 2005 Giller Prize and the McNally Robinson Book of the Year Award. It received a prestigious starred review from Kirkus Reviews. It was on the 2007 longlist for the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award.

Publishers Weekly said: “Luminous. . . . In this meditation on the aftereffects of violence and failed human connection, Bergen’s austere prose illustrates the arbitrary nature of life’s defining moments.”

This is the true first edition, and it is in fine/fine condition. Right now, prices for signed copies are low. They range between $50 and $125, mainly depending on condition.

The top of the price range includes true firsts with a signature plus a date or a line from the novel, and signed advance review copies. This book would fall somewhere between the middle and the high end of the price range. time-in_-between-copy_

I have another signed copy in not quite fine condition, which I found at a yard sale for one dollar!

Note that the number line has the edition number on the left and the year on the right. First editions have the number 1 showing and the year 05.

Bergen’s novels are wonderful. I believe that he is definitely an author to read and collect. Values for his signed work have nowhere to go but up.
